Marcelo Carrusca completes move from Melbourne City to Wanderers

Marcelo Carrusca has left Melbourne City to reunite with former A-League coach Josep Gombau at Western Sydney.

Carrusca, 34, had made just three substitute appearances for City and his departure suits all parties.

He arrived in Melbourne after being made surplus to requirements at Adelaide United, where he worked with Gombau and won a title under his successor, Guillermo Amor.

The Argentine, finding fitness and game time at City hard to come by, is happy to head north to the Wanderers in search of more regular football.

Marcelo Carrusca only made three appearances for Melbourne City.

Coach Warren Joyce has been happy to agree to the request, as he continues to rejuvenate his squad.

Carrusca's departure frees up a squad place for Joyce to bring in further talent -- or lock down Scottish forward Ross McCormack, should the opportunity arise.

McCormack is on loan from English club Aston Villa as a replacement for injured captain Bruno Fornaroli.

He is due to leave on the Uruguayan's return to fitness -- although the club are looking at ways to keep both strikers.
