U.S., England finalizing plans for friendly in November - sources

Dom Dwyer joins Taylor Twellman in the Heineken Boot Room to talk about becoming a U.S. citizen and the possibility of playing in a World Cup in his 30s.

The U.S. Soccer Federation is finalizing plans for a friendly against England in November, sources have confirmed to ESPN FC.

The game will be played in England at a site still to be determined, sources said.

The news, earlier reported by Goal.com, comes two days after Italy announced a friendly against the U.S. on Nov. 20. U.S. Soccer does not confirm friendlies before all the paperwork is completed.

Also that month, England will face Croatia in their final UEFA Nations League group-stage game on Nov. 18.

The U.S. and England have not faced each other since the 2010 World Cup, when the Americans earned a 1-1 draw in the teams' opening game before going on to top the group on goals scored.

The countries last played a men's friendly in 2008, a 2-0 win for England at Wembley Stadium. The U.S. last played in England in 2014 in a friendly against Colombia at Fulham's Craven Cottage in London.

After failing to qualify for the World Cup, the U.S. will next face Bolivia in Philadelphia on May 28, then travel to Ireland on June 2 and France a week later.
