Wales to host Spain in friendly in November

Gareth Bale

Wales will play Spain in a glamour Cardiff friendly in October -- the first fixture between the two countries for 33 years.

The game, announced by the Football Association of Wales on Friday alongside a November trip to Albania, could be played at the 74,500-capacity Principality Stadium in Cardiff.

The national football team has not played at the home of Welsh rugby since a Euro 2012 qualifier against England in March 2011, preferring instead to play at the Cardiff City Stadium.

Gareth Bale could only leave Real Madrid for a 'giant club' - Coleman

With Gareth Bale's future at Real Madrid looking more uncertain each day, ESPN FC's Sid Lowe discusses the options available to the Wales international.
Juventus' second leg comeback was undone deep into second half stoppage time as Cristiano Ronaldo converted a penalty to send Real Madrid to the Champions League semis.
The FC panel examine the biggest moments between Real Madrid and Juventus, including the late penalty for Real Madrid, Gianluigi Buffon's red card and more.

Gareth Bale could only leave Real Madrid for another "giant club,'' according to his former boss Chris Coleman.

Speculation is rife that Bale's time at the Bernabeu could be drawing to a close, with Real manager Zinedine Zidane relying less heavily upon him in recent weeks -- although he did select him for Wednesday night's dramatic Champions League quarterfinal victory against Juventus.

However, Coleman, who worked with the 28-year-old during his time in charge of Wales, insists the former Southampton...

Wales' Gareth Bale 'a threat all night' against Uruguay - Ryan Giggs

Gareth Bale had a frustrating night against Uruguay.

Ryan Giggs defended Gareth Bale's contribution after he suffered his first defeat as Wales manager to Uruguay in the China Cup final.

Real Madrid star Bale has proved the big attraction at this four-team tournament in Nanning, with his every move monitored by the media and his Chinese fan base.

But Bale had to settle for a spot in the shadows as Uruguay pair Luis Suarez and Edinson Cavani lit up Uruguay's 1-0 win.

Suarez struck the post twice before Cavani, who was subsequently named player of the...

Gareth Bale says Wales are 'even more hungry' to make 2022 World Cup

Gareth Bale celebrates after scoring his second in China.
Gareth Bale will be looking to win his first trophy in a Wales jersey in Monday's China Cup final against Uruguay.

Gareth Bale is determined not to give up on his World Cup dream, despite missing out on the finals in Russia this summer.

Bale had to watch on helplessly because of injury as Wales' World Cup ambitions were ended in the final group game by the Republic of Ireland in October.

And, although Bale will be 33 by the time of the 2022 World Cup in Qatar, the Real Madrid forward says he will be even more motivated to be at the tournament.

"It was a massive disappointment for all of us not to reach the World...

Wales star Gareth Bale hoping to add China Cup to silverware haul

Alison Bender and Stewart Robson discuss Ryan Giggs' appointment as the new manager of Wales and whether he can help them improve.

Gareth Bale says winning the China Cup with Wales would be a special trophy to add to his impressive collection.

Bale has been a serial winner at club level with Real Madrid, lifting 10 trophies -- including three Champions Leagues, one La Liga and two FIFA Club World Cups -- since he joined them for over €100 million in 2013.

Wales tasted success by reaching the semifinals of Euro 2016, but it is 81 years since the nation claimed its last outright title by winning the now-defunct British...
