USWNT: Mallory Pugh, Tierna Davidson not included on Olympic qualifying roster

New U.S. women's national team coach Vlatko Andonovski's roster for the CONCACAF Women's Olympic Qualifying Tournament includes 18 of the 23 players who helped the American team win the 2019 World Cup, but there was no room for young stars Mallory Pugh and Tierna Davidson.

Tobin Heath and Carli Lloyd headline the continuity, seeking to become four-time Olympians -- and three-time gold medalists -- if the U.S. qualifies and they make the final roster this summer.

USWNT set for World Cup semifinal rematch against England

The USWNT defeated England in the World Cup semifinal 2-1.

The United States Women's Soccer Team are set to kick off their SheBelieves Cup with a rematch against World Cup semifinal opponents England in Orlando in March. 

This will be the third time the two sides have met in the last year.

In the 2019 SheBelieves Cup the USWNT came second to the Lionesses before beating them in the World Cup semifinal in July.

The Americans went on to win the World Cup, defeating the Netherlands 2-0 in the final.

The Women's World Cup could be staged every two years, FIFA president Gianni Infantino said Friday.

The competition is currently held every four years, with the United States lifting the trophy in 2015 and again this July in France.

Infantino said he is keen on a proposal from the French federation to double the frequency of the Women's World Cup because of its "incredible impact for the development of the game" compared to club soccer.

Lyon ownership group to buy Rapinoe's NWSL team Reign FC for $3.51 million

Three USWNT stars score as North Carolina beats Chicago 4-0 to win its second straight NWSL title.

Reign FC and Lyon parent company OL Groupe announced Thursday that the two sides have agreed to terms on the purchase of the National Women's Soccer League club.

OL Groupe will pay $3.51 million for the American club's assets, pending approval of the NWSL board of directors. The French company announced its intention to negotiate a deal last month. It becomes the first international majority ownership group in a league that began play in 2013.
