PSG's Neymar becomes ambassador for Handicap International

Watch all of Neymar's moments from his Ligue 1 debut against Guingamp, including his first assist and goal with PSG.
Following his first game for PSG, Shaka Hislop explains why he believes Neymar's impact on Ligue 1 will be far-reaching.

Paris Saint-Germain star Neymar has become an ambassador for Handicap International.

Handicap International said Neymar, who made a world-record €222 million move from Barcelona this summer, "is lending his huge fame to a good cause: empowering the most vulnerable people in the world, people with disabilities living in poor countries, victims of conflicts and natural disasters."

Neymar, wearing a T-shirt with "repair lives" written on the front, appeared in Switzerland on Tuesday, standing...

Paulinho move to Barcelona adds credibility to Chinese Super League

Guangzhou Evergrande have a one-point lead atop the CSL over Andre Villas-Boas' Shanghai SIPG.
The FC crew discredit Neymar's push for Barcelona to bring in Brazilian teammate Paulinho.

Paulinho arrived in China in 2015 with a need to reinvent himself after an underwhelming spell with Tottenham Hotspur. Two years and two months later, the Brazilian is leaving Guangzhou Evergrande for Barcelona. That simple fact is, for Asian football, historic.

The Chinese Super League (CSL) has been painted as a semi-retirement home for unambitious and greedy South Americans and Europeans. This transfer shows that there may be more to it than that.

"Losing Paulinho is a loss for Evergrande, but...

Denilson knows firsthand the pressure that comes with world-record transfer

Denilson had no clue about the amount of pressure that would come with being the world's most expensive footballer.

The scene was in itself a carnival of ironies. After being nutmegged by an opponent, Denilson body-checked him and reacted furiously to the referee's decision to award a foul -- from which, by the way, the opposition scored the winning goal.

"It seems that the referee wanted go home bragging that he didn't blow the whistle once when I was fouled. Congratulations," Denilson said while still on the pitch.

Famous for trickery in his playing days, the Brazilian was the star of an otherwise innocuous...

Brazil pass Germany in FIFA rankings; Switzerland, Poland in top five

Michael Ballack calls on Germany's young players to step up and replace the team's retired stars ahead of the World Cup.

Brazil are back on top of the FIFA rankings, replacing World Cup holders Germany.

Brazil haven't played a game since June, while Germany were last in action a month ago when they beat Chile to collect the Confederations Cup in Russia.

The FIFA rankings are based on results over a four-year period.

Argentina retained third place, Switzerland rose to fourth -- their highest position since the first rankings 24 years go -- and Poland moved into an all-time best fifth.

The United States climbed nine...

Neymar's chances of Ballon d'Or win same at PSG and Barcelona - Tite

Barcelona President Josep Bartomeu criticises Neymar's move to PSG and maintains no player is bigger than the club.

Neymar's move to Paris Saint-Germain will not change the striker's chances of winning a Ballon d'Or, Brazil coach Tite said while unveiling his squad on Thursday.

Reports in the lead up to Neymar's record deal suggested he was looking to move in part to get out of the shadow of Lionel Messi, though the player had nothing but kind words about his former teammate.

Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo have won the past nine Ballon d'Or awards as the world's top player, and Tite, who previously...
