Sources: Real Madrid face triple injury crisis ahead of El Clasico

Sid Lowe explains why it will be tough for Real Madrid to move on from Gareth Bale in January.
Steve Nicol urges Man United to do everything in their power to keep Paul Pogba from leaving for Real Madrid.

Real Madrid face an injury crisis ahead of El Clasico with Eden Hazard set to miss the game, while Gareth Bale and Marcelo are doubts, sources have told ESPN.

Hazard, ranked the No. 3 winger in ESPN FC 100, sustained an injury in Madrid's 2-2 draw with Paris Saint-Germain in the Champions League last month.

Marcelo out, Madrid without 7 players for PSG

Marcelo is set to be one of seven Real Madrid first-team players to miss the Champions League clash against Paris Saint-Germain on Wednesday.

The club announced that the defender suffered a "post-traumatic cervicodorsal injury" during Madrid's 3-2 victory over Levante on the weekend.

Source: Marcelo wants to stay at Real Madrid

Real Madrid left-back Marcelo has no intention of leaving and is focused on fighting for his place despite the pending arrival of France international Ferland Mendy, a source close to the player has told ESPN FC.

Marcelo has won 20 trophies including four Champions Leagues since joining the club in 2007, but the 31-year-old had a poor 2018-19 season during which he lost his place at one point to youngster Sergio Reguilon.

Federico Valverde impresses, Marcelo struggles again as Madrid draw with Leganes

Marcelo's season to forget continued against Leganes, the Brazilian again failing to convince.

Real Madrid's slow and tortuous end to 2018-19 continued with a very underwhelming 1-1 La Liga draw at near neighbours Leganes on Monday evening.

Positives

Just six games left now in 2018-19, and then the "changes" that coach Zinedine Zidane keeps talking about can start to actually take place. While this is not how Madrid had hoped to be starting a Champions League quarter-final week, 1-1 is not such a bad result, considering Leganes had beaten Barcelona and drawn with Atletico Madrid at their...

Marcelo has no assurances over Real Madrid role - Santi Solari

La Liga correspondent Sid Lowe and the FC crew share their thoughts on how a second stint for Jose Mourinho would go at Real Madrid.

Real Madrid coach Santi Solari has warned out-of-favour Marcelo that no player is guaranteed a starting spot in his team, amid speculation he could leave this summer.

Vice-captain Marcelo has been a key member of the Madrid team that have won four of the last five Champions League trophies. But a dip in form this season has seen homegrown youngster Sergio Reguilon, 21, starting at left-back instead. This has coincided with Spanish reports claiming that Marcelo could join Juventus next...

Isco, Marcelo fail to seize opportunity as Real Madrid limp by Leganes in Copa del Rey

Real Madrid made very heavy work of qualifying for the Copa del Rey quarterfinals, winning 3-1 on aggregate over Leganes. Despite Leganes dominating Wednesday's last-16 second leg at Butarque, Los Pepineros were only able to manage one goal.

Positives

Just 12 months after going out of the Copa to their suburban neighbours in the quarterfinals, Los Blancos did enough to progress to the last eight on a night when Atletico Madrid crashed out. No new fitness problems was also a plus -- considering...
