Salcedo on Mexico: 'There aren't giants anymore'

CHICAGO -- Mexico defender Carlos Salcedo isn't getting carried away with Mexico's traditional status as a regional giant ahead of Sunday's Gold Cup final against the United States.

Mexico scraped past Haiti 1-0 after extra time on Tuesday in the semifinal to set up a championship game against El Tri's bitter rival, but Salcedo doesn't believe there is any favorite on Sunday.

Carlos Salcedo is considered a key player for Mexico in the upcoming World Cup cycle.

Mexico international Carlos Salcedo has agreed a move to Liga MX side Tigres from Eintracht Frankfurt, according to ESPN Mexico sources and multiple reports.

Salcedo is expected to travel to Mexico to sign a deal with Ricardo Ferretti's team in what is a surprise transfer given the defender has been a regular for Eintracht Frankfurt when available.
