Toronto police: Chelsea's Lucas Piazon 'wanted for sexual assault'

Chelsea's Lucas Piazon is wanted in Canada in connection with an alleged sexual assault.

Toronto police on Thursday said they have issued a warrant for the arrest of Brazilian player Lucas Piazon, a Chelsea forward on loan at Reading, in connection with an alleged sexual assault.

A warrant has been issued for the arrest of the 21-year-old and his Brazil under-22 teammate Andrey following an incident which allegedly took place during the Pan-Am Games in July.

Without making further comment, a Chelsea spokesman said: "We are aware of the reports."

Uruguay beat Mexico 1-0 to win Pan Am Games gold medal

Brian Lozano scored in the 11th minute as Uruguay beat Mexico 1-0 to win the gold medal in football at the Pan American Games.

Mexico challenged Uruguay on numerous occasions in the final 20 minutes of the match, but goalkeeper Guillermo De Amores was equal to the task in earning a clean sheet. 

Uruguay were only in the finals thanks to a last-gasp rally to beat Brazil in the semifinals.

Brazil defeat Panama in extra time to win Pan Am Games bronze medal

Brazil won the Pan Am Games bronze medal on Saturday.

Brazil scored twice in extra time to defeat Panama 3-1 and win the bronze medal at the Pan Am Games.

Panama saw a penalty saved in the first half but took the lead just before half-time on Josiel Nunez's goal.

Luciano answered for Brazil in the 76th minute to force the extra session, which belonged to Brazil.

Lucas Domingues scored nine minutes into extra time to put his side in control before Luciano added his second of the game in the closing stages.

Mexico beat Panama in Pan Am games semifinal, Uruguay knock off Brazil

Just one night after Mexico beat Panama 2-1 in a controversial Gold Cup semifinals, the two countries' junior sides played to the same final score in the Pan Am Games.

Angel Zaldivar opened the scoring in the second minute for Mexico, heading home off a long cross in from the right flank.

Mexico held the advantage until the 59th minute, when Panama's Josiel Nunez picked up a poor clearance in the box and blasted a shot that deflected off goalkeeper Manuel Lajud's hands and into the side netting.



Mexico and Uruguay win to advance to Pan Am medal round

Mexico rallied from two goals down at half-time to defeat Trinidad and Tobago 4-2 and win Group B at the Pan Am Games.

Ricardo John opened the scoring for Trinidad just seven minutes in, and Schakeil Henry doubled the advantage in the 39th minute.

But the second half belonged to Mexico, Jorge Espericueta drawing one back on the hour mark befre substitute Daniel Alvarez equalised eight minutes later.
