Suso, Kalinic, Borini 4/10 as Milan stumble to 3-0 defeat at Verona

Borini, left, and Milan's attack was woeful in Sunday's heavy defeat at Verona.
Borini, left, and Milan's attack was woeful in Sunday's heavy defeat at Verona.

After some positive signs in their past two games, AC Milan took a huge backward step in Sunday's 3-0 defeat at Verona. The scoreline flattered the hosts with the Rossoneri controlling the game and dominating possession for the most part, but it was an infuriatingly disappointing display.

Positives

Milan were in the ascendancy early on, showing confidence on the ball and were patient as it looked a matter of time before they got a breakthrough. In turn, Gennaro Gattuso should feel aggrieved...

Milan supporters too harsh, rushed in latest row with Gianluigi Donnarumma

Gab Marcotti recaps the timeline of events that led up to Milan fans making a sign saying their 'patience is done' with Milan goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnarumma.

After the furore surrounding his contract situation over the summer, it had been hoped that Gianluigi Donnarumma's future wouldn't be a talking point for at least another 12 months. Sadly, we haven't even made it to the New Year and the AC Milan goalkeeper has spent the week in the headlines.

From talk of no release clause being in his contract renewal to chatter of an annulment and being put under pressure to sign a new deal. Add to the pot Mino Raiola's ongoing involvement and speculation...

Man City chasing Bayern for longest winning run in Europe's top 5 leagues

Manchester City easily dispatch of Swansea City to win their 15th consecutive Premier League game.
Manchester City easily dispatch of Swansea City to win their 15th consecutive Premier League game.
The FC panel discuss the positive impact Pep Guardiola has had on English football and whether or not his City side can finish the season unbeaten.

Manchester City sealed a Premier League record run of 15 consecutive victories on Wednesday with a 4-0 win at Swansea City, but they still have a way to go before they can claim the record across Europe's top five leagues.

Pep Guardiola's side have the longest winning streak in the English top flight, and perhaps it's no surprise -- the Catalan coach is now looking to break his own continental record that he set at one of his former clubs.

What's wrong with Paulo Dybala and should Juventus be worried?

Steve Nicol and Mark Donaldson talk the issues surrounding Juventus' Paulo Dybala off the football pitch.

Juventus legend Alessandro Del Piero didn't agree with the decision to leave Paulo Dybala on the bench for the Derby d'Italia against Inter Milan last week. "Conceptually, my No. 10 has to play the big games," he said.

If your star player is short of fitness it doesn't matter. And if he hasn't scored in a while, what difference does it make? On talent alone, he has to start. Can you imagine Zinedine Zidane dropping Cristiano Ronaldo for a Clasico or Ernesto Valverde doing the same with Lionel Messi?...

Missed chance by Gerson part of rough day for Roma against Chievo

A look at the best moments from Serie A's top sides in matchday 16.

Roma saw their title hopes dented by wasteful finishing and a wonderful performance by Chievo goalkeeper Stefano Sorrentino, who was on hand to push away anything that the Giallorossi managed to put on target.

Roma had more than two-thirds of possession and 26 shots -- more than any other team this season -- and while veteran Sorrentino was on top form to deny Roma, it was the away side's profligacy that stopped them from returning south with all three points.

If Patrik Schick was unlucky to see...

Giacomo Bonaventura the hero as Gennaro Gattuso bags first Milan win

Check out the best moments from Serie A's top sides in matchday 16, as Juve miss the chance to take the top spot in Serie A.
After Gennaro Gattuso's promotion to first-team manager at Milan, Gab Marcotti assesses his managerial history.

It took some time, but Gennaro Gattuso finally got his first win as AC Milan coach with the Rossoneri's 2-1 victory over Bologna on Sunday night. A brace from Giacomo Bonaventura sealed the win and, while Milan's play wasn't convincing, it was a huge relief for their fans to get the three points.

Positives

Switching to a 4-3-3, Milan dominated early and had a direction about their play. While they still need to be sharper and more consistent, there were certainly positive signs and this win should...
