PSG's Kylian Mbappe further eclipses Neymar with Time magazine cover

With the names of the 30 nominees for the men's Ballon d'Or trophy now revealed, the FC panel share their current front-runners for the award.

Kylian Mbappe's inexorable rise as one of world football's biggest stars has been nicely summed up by his appearance on the cover of Time magazine.

The 19-year-old (NINETEEN!) having his image on the front of the iconic publication as one of it's "Next Generation Leaders" for 2018 is the latest example of his star eclipsing that of Paris Saint-Germain teammate Neymar.

The France international won the World Cup with Les Bleus this summer and has been received jubilantly in his home country since...

Kylian Mbappe, Neymar 8/10 as PSG flatter in rout of Lyon

Kylian Mbappe found his scoring touch in the second half, scoring four goals in 14 minutes to lead PSG to victory over rivals Lyon.

Kylian Mbappe scored his first Paris Saint-Germain hat trick as part of a four-goal haul in a 5-0 thrashing of Lyon at Parc des Princes on Sunday. The defending champions set a new Ligue 1 record with a ninth consecutive win from their opening nine matches and also maintained their eight-point lead at the summit. Neymar opened the scoring from the penalty spot in the first half, while Presnel Kimpembe, as well as Lucas Tousart, saw red before half-time.

Monaco go from title winners to relegation fighters as transfer policy falls flat

Leonardo Jardim trudges off the pitch after the defeat to Angers.
Leonardo Jardim has been left with a squad shorn of all its true quality.

Things can change quickly in football, maybe more than in any other sport. Reaching the top is certainly very hard, but staying at the summit once you are up there is probably even harder. On Friday at Saint-Etienne, Monaco lost their sixth game of the season in all competitions -- the fourth already in eight Ligue 1 matches. Little more than a year after winning the league for the first time in 17 years, they are now 18th in the table, only two points ahead of bottom side Guingamp.

From title...

Neymar, Christopher Nkunku star as PSG cruise away to Nice

Neymar scored twice to help Paris Saint-Germain maintain their perfect league record with a 0-3 win over 10-man Nice.

Paris Saint-Germain's perfect start to the Ligue 1 season continued with an intense 3-0 win away at Nice on Saturday. Superstar Neymar lived up to his billing with two goals and Christopher Nkunku added another as Thomas Tuchel oversaw the most complete performance by his side yet at Allianz Riviera.

The win and the continued record, equalled only by Olympique Lillois back in 1936-37, are both big pluses, but the manner of PSG's victory will have pleased Tuchel most. The defending champions...

Kylian Mbappe and the curse of winning a World Cup

One of the most damaging things that can happen to a player's career is winning a World Cup. Once you've climbed the game's highest peak, where is there left to go? Most of the French world champions of 1998 went on to have dreadful league seasons in 1998-99. Their captain, Didier Deschamps (now France's coach) later admitted to feeling "physical and moral apathy" after lifting the trophy. In the next World Cup, the French were knocked out in the first round, the fate of four of the past five...

PSG's Neymar, Dani Alves look right at home at Paris Fashion Week

With Paris Fashion Week rolling into town, Paris Saint-Germain pair Neymar and Dani Alves fully embraced the haute-couture ethos of the event.

Unsurprisingly, Alves in particular was quick to seize any opportunity to dress up to the nines and strut his stuff, including a pair of black high heels presumably belonging to his wife, Spanish model Joana Sanz.

The Brazilian full-back then made his way to join Neymar at the Off-White Spring-Summer 2019 Ready-to-Wear show in the city while sporting a fetching...
