Norway international Guro Reiten and striker Bethany England got on the scoresheet as second-placed Chelsea beat visitors Birmingham City 2-0 on Wednesday to keep up the pressure on FA Women's Super League leaders Manchester City.

Defending champions Arsenal suffered a serious blow to their title hopes as they suffered a 2-1 defeat at Women's Super League leaders Manchester City, while Chelsea thrashed West Ham 8-0 to move second in the table on Sunday.

Matildas striker Caitlin Foord has been granted a release from Sydney FC to join FA Women's Super League giants Arsenal.

The latest in a string of W-League players to sign with a European club, the 25-year-old will link up Australian coach Joe Montemurro at the FAWSL champions.

Matilda Chloe Logarzo has signed with English Women's Super League club Bristol City.

The 25-year-old midfielder's deal was announced on Thursday in the United Kingdom and Logarzo will link up with her teammates after she completes her current national team duties.

Logarzo is in camp with the Matildas ahead of Olympic qualifiers next month against China, Thailand and Taiwan.
