Atlanta United crashed out of the CONCACAF Champions League on Wednesday night against Mexican side Monterrey.

Josef Martinez's 77th-minute strike for Atlanta United produced the game's only goal Wednesday, but Mexico's Monterrey still advanced to the CONCACAF Champions League semifinals.

Visiting Monterrey, which beat Atlanta 3-0 in Mexico last week, won the total-goals series 3-1.

Santos and their fans might've hung their heads after New York scored two quick goals, but the Mexican side rebounded and won on the night and advanced to the semifinals.

The New York Red Bulls' comeback attempt was buried in a late flurry goals by Santos Laguna, who won 4-2 on Tuesday at Torreon, Mexico, to book a place in the CONCACAF Champions League semifinals.

Santos won the aggregate-goals series 6-2 after posting a 2-0 win in the first leg on March 5 in Harrison, New Jersey.
