Central defender DeVere will effectively cover the departure of Phoenix skipper Andrew Durante, after he agreed to a one-season deal with the Kiwi club.

Veteran defender Andrew Durante's move to new A-League club Western United has been confirmed.

Wellington Phoenix captain Durante departed the New Zealand-based club earlier this month after 11 seasons and will join former coach Mark Rudan at the expansion team.

"I'm looking forward to stepping out of my comfort zone and into a new environment where I believe I can add significant value," the 37-year-old said.

David Williams has chosen not to renew his contract with Wellington Phoenix.

The post-Mark Rudan dismantling of the Wellington Phoenix has gone to another level, with David Williams and Andrew Durante announcing their departures from the club.

The most capped player in A-League history with 313 appearances, Durante's leadership had become part of the Phoenix fabric but is joining an exodus that began when Rudan announced his departure two months ago.

Rudan, who will be the inaugural coach of Western United, is already confirmed to have Phoenix players Filip Kurto and Max...

Roy Krishna parts ways with Wellington Phoenix

A-League Johnny Warren Medallist Roy Krishna is reportedly set to join a South Korean club but says he won't reveal where he's going until after his belated honeymoon in late June.

The 31-year-old Fijian striker confirmed on Monday that he's leaving Wellington Phoenix and the A-League following a breakout season in which he won the A-League's Golden Boot award by scoring 18 goals in 26 games.

He was being courted by other A-League clubs but the Australian reports he has signed with a Korean club.
