Neymar scored a spectacular last-gasp goal for Paris St Germain that was greeted with more cheers than boos in a 1-0 Ligue 1 win over Strasbourg on Saturday on his first appearance of the season following a failed transfer to Barcelona.

The Brazil forward found the back of the net with a bicycle kick two minutes into stoppage time, drawing mostly applause but a few boos from the Parc des Princes faithful as he appeared to have put the transfer saga behind him.

Stephanie Frappart becomes first woman to referee Ligue 1 match

Stephanie Frappart made history on Sunday.

Stephanie Frappart became the first female referee to officiate a Ligue 1 match when she took charge of the match between Amiens and Strasbourg on Sunday.

Frappart, the only referee from France who will be officiating at the Women's World Cup to be held in the country from June 7 to July 7, was also the first woman to officiate a Ligue 2 (second-tier) match.

Sunday's match ended 0-0 but Frappart was kept busy, booking four players in all, three of whom were from Strasbourg.

A female referee will take charge of a Ligue 1 game  for the first time this weekend in an historic move for French football.

Stephanie Frappart will officiate the top flight contest between Amiens and Strasbourg on Sunday, making the step up after five years as a Ligue 2 referee.

It remains to be seen whether Frappart will become a permanent fixture in Ligue 1 next season, but France's refereeing chief, Pascal Garibian, said her upcoming role at the FIFA Women's World Cup was a factor behind...

Paris Saint-Germain's Ligue 1 title celebrations were delayed on Sunday when they dropped their first points at home this season in a 2-2 draw against Strasbourg.

Victory would have given PSG their eighth Ligue 1 title after Lille earlier drew 1-1 at Stade de Reims, but Sunday's draw left Thomas Tuchel's side on 81 points from 30 games.

Second-placed Lille have 61 points from 31 matches.

Racing Strasbourg won their third French League Cup title when they beat En Avant Guingamp 4-1 on penalties after the final had ended in a dull goalless draw after extra time on Saturday.

Lionel Carole scored the winning spot-kick at Lille's Pierre Mauroy stadium at the end of a hugely disappointing final.

Guingamp knocked out Paris St Germain, League Cup winners in the last five seasons, in the quarter-finals and they had won three of their four matches en route to the final on penalties but goalkeeper...
