PARIS, Jan 11 (Reuters) - Olympique Lyonnais lost ground in the race for second spot in Ligue 1 when they were held 1-1 at home by Stade de Reims while second-placed Lille cruised to a 3-1 win at Caen on Friday.

Three days after being knocked out in the League Cup quarter-finals, Lyon got off on the wrong foot as Pablo Chavarria pounced to put the visitors ahead in the 35th minute.

The hosts pushed after the break and were rewarded when Bertrand Traore's strike took a deflection off...

Paris St Germain extended their season's Ligue 1 winning streak to seven on Wednesday with a 4-1 home victory over Stade de Reims that has them already eight points clear at the top of the table.

Elsewhere Olympique de Marseille and Olympique Lyonnais kept up the probably forlorn chase with wins.

Lyon won comfortably 3-0 at Dijon, where both teams had a man red-carded, but Marseille needed a stoppage-time goal by Valere Germain to snatch a 3-2 win at Strasbourg, who had made it 2-2 a minute earlier.

Reims celebrate their promotion back to Ligue 1

Stade de Reims secured the Ligue 2 title and a return to the French top flight after beating Ajaccio 1-0 on Friday night.

Grejohn Kyei's solo goal in the 76th minute was enough to put Reims 13 points clear of Nimes, who drew away to Bourg-Peronnas, with all of their fellow contenders having four games remaining.

Reims will now return to Ligue 1 after a two-year absence. The six-time French champions had been relegated after finishing 18th in the 2015-16 season.

Morocco's Romain Saiss beats Togo's goalkeeper Kossi Agassa in their African Nations Cup match on Friday.
Togo lost to Morocco on Friday at the African Nations Cup.

PORT-GENTIL, Gabon -- Togo coach Claude le Roy is not sure if veteran goalkeeper Kossi Agassa will play in a crucial game at the African Nations Cup after his house in Lome was vandalised by supporters who blamed him for a loss.

Agassa was "emotionally affected" by the news and will be allowed to skip Togo's final group match against Congo in Gabon on Tuesday if he wishes, Le Roy said. Togo's hopes of qualifying for the quarterfinals rest on the game.

Agassa's home in the Togolese capital was placed...

Julian Draxler scores on PSG debut to cap rout in Coupe de France

Julian Draxler scored the last of PSG's seven goals on Saturday.

Julian Draxler scored in his first competitive game for Paris Saint-Germain as they routed fellow Ligue 1 side Bastia 7-0 in the Coupe de France.

Thiago Silva scored the opener after a half-hour, heading home following a corner before Adrien Rabiot doubled the lead from long range.
