Southampton's Oriol Romeu happy at club despite Barcelona return links

Southampton midfielder Oriol Romeu has said he wants to stay at the club amid reports linking him with a potential return to Barcelona.

Romeu, 25, stressed that he feels contented on the south coast after becoming a key player in Claude Puel's team this season.

The Southampton Echo quoted him as saying that being linked with Barcelona "is always something nice."

But he added: "I've been at Chelsea and Barcelona and haven't played, and I don't want to have this feeling.

Arsenal youngster Nathan Tella moves to Southampton after trial spell

Nathan Tella has moved to St Mary's Stadium.

Arsenal teenager Nathan Tella has said he is joining Southampton after a decade at the North London club.

Tella, 17, has signed for the club after playing for the under-18s on trial against Leicester earlier this month.

The winger wrote on his Instagram page: "After a great 10 years at Arsenal, sadly I have to move on to a new challenge.

Manchester City are tracking Southampton defender Cedric Soares as they look to bolster their defensive options next season, sources close to the Etihad Stadium club have told ESPN FC.

Southampton's James Ward-Prowse ready to take England chance

James Ward-Prowse has impressed for Southampton and the U21s.

James Ward-Prowse says he will use his time with the England squad to improve as a player but the midfielder also insists he is ready to take his chance if it comes this week.

The uncapped Southampton man has been named in Gareth Southgate's squad for the matches against Germany and Lithuania and he is determined to make his mark should he be selected.
