Last time Sheffield United were in the Premier League

Sheffield United's last season in the top flight still rankles. As the end of the 2006-07 season neared, it looked like West Ham would be relegated and the Blades would survive. Enter Carlos Tevez, who almost singlehandedly...

WWE legend Foley to attend Sheffield United game after Sharp's 'Mr Socko' tribute

Scarcely believable as it may be, WWE legend Mick Foley appears to have struck up a friendship with Sheffield United striker Billy Sharp.

It all began back in January when Sharp caught Foley's attention by celebrating his goal against Norwich by paying homage to the wrestler's famous "Mr Socko" gimmick.

This led to the pair exchanging messages of mutual gratitude on Twitter, with Foley thanking Sharp for getting his name trending and Sharp thanking Foley for the sock-based inspiration.

It's that time of year, when club shops are stuffed full of stocking fillers, including the usual array of diaries and calendars for the following year.

He would add a second-half penalty that sealed defeat for Sir Alex Ferguson's team, who ended the season as inaugural champions; Dave Bassett's United finished 14th.

On Tuesday, as part of Play With A Legend,...

Man United fan falls asleep during bore FA Cup win over Sheffield United

With Manchester United having failed to score a single first-half goal in their last 10 home games, you can perhaps forgive their fans for failing to be on the edge of their seats.

United stand accused of playing inert, possession-based football on a ground famed for its free-flowing, attacking football.

And now you could say the fans are getting bored of Louis van Gaal's brand of football.

A case in point being this poor guy, who was apparently unable to stave off the zzzs as he watched van Gaal's...
