Sources: Arsenal beat Spurs to €30m Saliba

Eddie Nketiah netted the game-winning goal for the Gunners as they defeated Bundesliga champions Bayern Munich in their ICC opener.
International Champions Cup: Edward Nketiah (88') Arsenal 2-1 Bayern Munich
International Champions Cup: Robert Lewandowski (71') Arsenal 1-1 Bayern Munich
International Champions Cup: Louis Poznanski (49' OG) Arsenal 1-0 Bayern Munich
With Arsenal admitting to their lack of spending power, ESPN FC's Ian Darke finds it plausible that the Gunners could drop out of top six this season.

France under-19 defender William Saliba is set to join Arsenal in a deal worth €30 million despite late interest from Tottenham but will be loaned back to Saint. Etienne, sources have told ESPN FC.

Arsenal appeared to have beaten competition for the 18-year-old centre-back. However, a late bid from Spurs put the move in doubt.

Sources: Arsenal to sign prospect Saliba for £27m

Ian Darke says it's imperative Arsenal bolster their squad starting with Crystal Palace's Wilfried Zaha if they want to return to UCL football.

Arsenal are set to sign French centre back William Saliba from Saint-Etienne for £27 million on a five-year contract, sources have confirmed to ESPN.

However, the London club will loan the 18-year-old back to Saint-Etienne next season so he can continue to learn his trade in the French top flight. Arsenal have beaten other clubs like AS Roma or Borussia Dortmund for the signing of the promising defender who had penned a new deal with Les Verts last April.
