Controversy reigns as Morelia stun Leon, Necaxa survive Queretaro scare

A 98th minute Leon equalizer was controversially disallowed to send Morelia through to the Liga MX 2019 Apertura semifinals, after winning the second leg of the quarterfinal 2-1 in Estadio Leon on Saturday.

Referees halt Liga MX quarterfinal amid anti-gay chants

Morelia's 3-3 tie with Leon in Estadio Morelos was stopped temporarily in the second half after anti-gay chants were repeatedly aimed at Leon goalkeeper Rodolfo Cota.

No. 1 seed Cruz Azul advanced to the Liga MX semfinals following a 1-1 draw (3-1 aggregate) with eighth-seeded Queretaro on Saturday night.
