Play-off chasing Oxford United were held to a goalless draw by struggling Rochdale at the Crown Oil Arena.

Oxford opened up the home defence inside the opening 15 minutes when Wes Thomas and James Henry exchanged passes on the edge of the area, but Donervon Daniels' brilliant block tackle prevented Henry from firing the U's ahead.

Goalkeeper Simon Eastwood twice denied Callum Camps before the break and his heroics continued after the interval when he pulled off a terrific stop to deny Joe Bunney, who...

Oxford ended a run of three successive home defeats in all competitions as Josh Ruffels' last-gasp strike lifted the U's to a 1-0 win over Doncaster at the Kassam Stadium.

It seemed the hosts were going to rue Jack Payne's missed penalty in the 79th minute but, deep into added-on time, Ruffels spared his team-mate's blushes with a superb long-range strike.

Oxford thought they should have been awarded a spot-kick early on for a foul on Wes Thomas while James Henry's first-time effort forced Rovers goalkeeper...

Wes Thomas' first-half equaliser saw Oxford secure a 1-1 draw at Southend.

The Shrimpers took the lead in the 19th minute when a fine left-wing cross from Stephen McLaughlin was tapped home by Simon Cox from close range.

But the U's hit back just three minutes later with Thomas brushing aside a weak challenge from Southend skipper Anton Ferdinand to score.

The Shrimpers came close to going back in front in the 41st minute when Josh Wright sent a 20-yard volley against the crossbar but the U's Josh Ruffels...

Oxford United claimed a comfortable 4-0 victory at struggling 10-man Plymouth to end the home side's five-match unbeaten run in League One.

United went ahead in the 15th minute after striker Wes Thomas was felled in the Plymouth penalty area as he latched on to a superb through ball from Ryan Ledson from the Oxford half.

Central defender Ryan Edwards, who committed the foul, was sent off and Ledson stepped up to convert the penalty, sending goalkeeper Remi Matthews the wrong way from the spot.

Northampton continued their recent revival under Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink with a 2-1 derby win over Oxford at the Kassam Stadium.

The victory made it six games unbeaten for the Cobblers in all competitions and was Oxford's fourth straight defeat in both the league and the cups.

Ash Taylor forced the ball over the line from five yards in a scramble at a corner to give Town the breakthrough in the 12th minute.

U's keeper Simon Eastwood saved well from Chris Long and Lewis McGugan before Oxford equalised...
