Newcastle Jets left it late to secure a 2-1 victory over Perth Glory with Jeremy Walker netting on own goal deep into injury time.

Newcastle's high-flying A-League campaign has suffered a huge blow with striker Roy O'Donovan sidelined for three months with a groin tear.

Transfer system will help 'good-quality players in the A-League' - Ernie Merrick

Newcastle Jets left it late to secure a 2-1 victory over Perth Glory with Jeremy Walker netting on own goal deep into injury time.

Ernie Merrick has reiterated the need for loans and transfers in the A-League as the Newcastle coach hunts foreign backup for his injured attacking stocks.

Irish striker Roy O'Donovan has joined Venezuelan counterpart Ronald Vargas on the long-term injury list, in a cruel blow to the Jets' high-flying campaign.

Newcastle Jets coach Ernie Merrick calls win over Perth Glory 'theft'

Newcastle Jets left it late to secure a 2-1 victory over Perth Glory with Jeremy Walker netting on own goal deep into injury time.

Glory looked headed for victory courtesy of a 20th-minute strike from Joe Knowles in Saturday night's game at nib Stadium.

But a sweet volley from 19-year-old Jets substitute John Koutroumbis in the 88th minute levelled the scores, before Glory defender Jeremy Walker scored an own goal in the 92nd minute to hand all three points...

Newcastle Jets scored two goals at the death to snatch a 2-1 win over Perth Glory in their A-League clash at nib Stadium.

Glory looked headed for victory courtesy of a 20th-minute strike from Joe Knowles in Saturday night's game.

But a sweet volley from 19-year-old substitute John Koutroumbis in the 88th minute levelled the scores. And Glory's agony was amplified when defender Jeremy Walker scored an own goal in the second minute of injury time.

The double blow stunned the 8,063 crowd, and left...
