Javier Torrente
Javier Torrente was sacked by Morelia on Sunday.

Javier Torrente became the second Liga MX manager fired this weekend after being dismissed by Morelia on Sunday, a day after Jose Luis "Chelis" Sanchez was relieved of his duties at Puebla.

Morelia lost 1-0 on Saturday evening to Club America and Torrente stated afterwards that his future was out of his hands, but did point out that his team had faced a start that included games against reigning Liga MX champion Tigres, CONCACAF Champions League holder Monterrey, as well as giant Club America.

Over half of Liga MX club Morelia's players have received calls attempting to extort them and signing new faces from abroad has been complicated due to insecurity concerns, according to club president Alvaro Davila.

Monarcas are struggling in 15th position in Liga MX, with fans displaying their unhappiness after last Friday's 2-1 home loss to Atlas, but Davila said in a news conference on Wednesday that part of the club's problems were beyond his control.

Here are the Power Rankings after Week 9.

Morelia apologizes for coach Filadelfo Rangel's sexist remark

Liga MX club Morelia has issued an apology for its women's team's coach Filadelfo Rangel remarks after the side's 0-0 draw with Necaxa on Friday.

When explaining his team's failure to finish chances, Rangel suggested that it had to do with women being more "indecisive."

"It's because of indecision," said Rangel in the postgame press conference. "The indecision of women. It's like in life, they are more indecisive than men in taking decisions."

The comments sparked a backlash on social media and...
