Goals from Jack Marriott and Jake Gray earned 10-man Luton a 2-1 comeback win at Crewe.

Crewe raised the bar in front of their new manager Dave Artell and took a first-half lead through skipper Ryan Lowe.

Charlie Kirk should have done better when well placed on the left of the box early on, only to drag his finish past the far post.

Jon Guthrie was also left to rue skying a header over from close range after getting on the end of a teasing free-kick from George Cooper.

Luton responded with Marriott forcing...

Omar Beckles secured Accrington a place in the fourth round of the FA Cup with a 2-1 win over fellow League Two side Luton.

The defender leapt highest to head home the winner in the 57th minute to help Stanley progress through the third round for the first time since 2010.

Sean McConville gave Accrington a half-time lead before Jake Gray levelled for Luton, who ended the game with 10 men after Glen Rea was dismissed in stoppage time.

Accrington had the most possession in the first half and Matty...

Luton midfielder Cameron McGeehan booked after breaking leg

The season of goodwill officially came to an end at Fratton Park on Monday as Portsmouth hosted Luton Town in their first League Two fixture of the year.

Sadly, the game was only 15 minutes old when Luton midfielder Cameron McGeehan suffered a broken leg in a challenge with Pompey's Michael Doyle.

Sympathy from the home crowd was in short supply however, as fans began to jeer and heckle McGeehan as he received several minutes of medical treatment before leaving the pitch on a stretcher.

The referee...

Christian Burgess scored his third goal of the season to fire Portsmouth to a 1-0 win at home against Sky Bet League Two promotion rivals Luton.

Burgess' thumping header from Carl Baker's corner 14 minutes before half-time handed Pompey victory at a sold out Fratton Park.

The win would have been more commanding but for Gary Roberts missing a late penalty.

Gareth Evans and left-back Enda Stevens both went close to doubling Pompey's lead as the hosts dominated the first half.

Evans should have done better...

Luton Town deservedly ended 2016 with a home victory after seeing off Barnet 3-1 at Kenilworth Road.

The hosts were inches away from an early lead as Jordan Cook's effort deflected narrowly wide, while Barnet's Jack Taylor saw his volley stopped by Christian Walton.

The Hatters went ahead after 31 minutes when Alan Sheehan curled a stunning free kick into the top corner from 25 yards out.

However, Barnet levelled six minutes later when Taylor's cross-shot was nodded home by Bira Dembele with the home...
