FC Copenhagen's Michael Santos has been banned for three games by UEFA for assaulting a policeman during a Europa League game at Celtic in February.

The Uruguayan forward was charged by police after he barged into an officer while celebrating Pep Biel's 85th minute goal in a 3-1 win over the Scottish side in the second leg of their round-of-32 tie on Feb. 27.

Copenhagen's Michael Santos charged with assault on police during Europa League tie

Michael Santos was involved in an incident with the police during Copenhagen's match against Celtic.

FC Copenhagen striker Michael Santos has been charged with assaulting a police officer during their Europa League match against Celtic on Thursday.

Santos scored the opening goal of the game as Copenhagen overcame the Scottish champions 3-1 at Celtic Park to progress to the last 16.

The striker had an altercation with an officer in front of their travelling supporters after Copenhagen's second goal late on.

Copenhagen supporters unveiled a banner of a burning Smurf in their Europa League match at Malmo FF.

UEFA has fined FC Copenhagen €70,000 ($77,000) for incidents at a Europa League game against Malmo FF, including a fan banner of a burning Smurf cartoon character.

UEFA says its disciplinary panel judged charges of "illicit banner" and fireworks being lit at a 1-1 draw in Sweden in October.

Roma sign Robin Olsen as replacement for Liverpool goalkeeper Alisson

Roma confirmed the signing of Swedish goalkeeper Robin Olsen from Copenhagen as a replacement for Alisson, who joined Liverpool last Thursday.

Alisson became the most expensive goalkeeper in history when he moved to Liverpool for €62.5 million, while Olsen has cost Roma for €8.5m with performances related bonuses which could see the deal rise by up to €3.5m.
