Scunthorpe are monitoring Scott Wiseman ahead of Sunday's Sky Bet League One home clash with Coventry.

Wiseman is being assessed after he fell heavily during the 2-1 win at Swindon on Saturday before going on to complete the full duration of game.

It also remains to be seen whether fellow defender Jordan Clarke is able to be back involved this weekend. The former Coventry man has been nursing a toe problem.

Matt Crooks, Luke Daniels, Charlie Goode and Tom Hopper will definitely remain sidelined for...

George Thomas scored as Coventry earned local bragging rights with a 1-0 win over 10-man Walsall.

The young striker, who earlier in the month scored as Coventry won the Checkatrade Trophy at Wembley, netted seven minutes before the interval to bring a welcome win for Mark Robins' side.

Coventry, who have been bottom since January and in the relegation zone from November, had already been condemned to relegation, and with Walsall safe in mid-table there was precious little to play for bar pride.

Ian Henderson's brace kept alive Rochdale's slim Sky Bet League One play-off hopes as already-relegated Coventry were beaten 2-0 at Spotland.

Dale's win - combined with Millwall and Southend losing - saw Keith Hill's side close the gap to three points between themselves and the top six.

The home side took the lead after 18 minutes with a terrific breakaway goal.

Jamie Allen and Joe Rafferty combined on the edge of the Dale area to free Nathaniel Mendez-Laing up the right flank. He outpaced Chris Stokes...

Toy pig protest holds up Coventry's League One match against Charlton

Toy pigs were thrown on the pitch before the game could begin.

Pigs were flying at Friday's League One match between Coventry City and Charlton Athletic.

Fans threw so many small plastic pigs on to the pitch that the protest against team owners delayed the start by about seven minutes.

The incident happened before the match, and when it did start, less than a minute later more pigs were tossed, leading the referee to make both teams leave the pitch. The pigs were cleared and play resumed five minutes later.

Similar incidents occurred in October when the teams...

Coventry dropped into Sky Bet League Two following a 1-1 draw with Charlton as supporters from both sides threw toy pigs onto the pitch in protest against their clubs' owners.

Just seconds before the game was about to start, hundreds of the toy pigs were thrown onto the playing surface and put kick-off back by seven minutes.

When they were finally cleared, referee Darren Handley got the game under way. However, more pigs were thrown onto one corner of the Ricoh Arena pitch within seconds and the two...
