League Two title-chasing Plymouth were forced to share the spoils with Colchester after the sides drew 0-0 at the Weston Homes Community Stadium.

The Pilgrims are already assured of promotion but were hoping to turn up the heat on League Two leaders Doncaster with a win.

Colchester also have promotion in their sights but lost ground in the play-off race after dropping points in their penultimate home game.

Despite the lack of goals, both sides had chances during an absorbing contest.

Colchester had a great start to the game when they took the lead in the 22nd minute.

Title-chasing Doncaster came from behind to secure a 1-1 draw at play-off chasing Colchester in Sky Bet League Two.

Doncaster, who won promotion last weekend, fell behind in the 16th minute when Ben Dickenson sent a superb left-footed strike into the top corner after Richard Brindley had flicked on Drey Wright's low cross.

The hosts came agonisingly close to doubling their lead four minutes later when skipper Chris Porter's delightful strike rattled a post.

A superb first-half display secured Colchester a thumping 4-0 victory over fellow Sky Bet League Two play-off hopefuls Stevenage.

Richard Brindley hit the woodwork early on for Colchester, who took an 11th-minute lead when Brennan Dickenson lashed home after Drey Wright had helped on Tarique Fosu's delivery into the box.

Keeper Sam Walker made a fine double stop at his near post to deny Stevenage forward Matt Godden but Colchester doubled their lead just before the half-hour through Chris Porter's...

Two goals from Shola Ameobi saw Notts County claim a third win on the bounce to move and dent Colchester's play-off hopes with a 3-1 win at Meadow Lane.

The Magpies made their intentions clear from the start as Adam Campbell shot wide before Haydn Hollis opened the scoring after Ameobi hit the woodwork.

It was no more than Kevin Nolan's side deserved for a brilliant opening, but they were pegged back in the 21st minute when Chris Porter lashed in a superb equaliser.

But Notts were soon back on the front...
