Olivier Ntcham struck against Hamilton with a superb volley.

Celtic manager Brendan Rodgers hailed Olivier Ntcham for his Man of the Match performance and goal in the 3-1 Scottish Premiership win over Hamilton on Wednesday.

France under-21 midfielder Ntcham opened the scoring with a spectacular volley in the 12th minute to take his goal tally to five since joining from Manchester City in the summer.

Celtic extended their unbeaten domestic run to 69 games with a 3-1 win over Hamilton at Parkhead but it was far from a vintage performance.

Midfielder Olivier Ntcham put the hosts ahead with a spectacular volley in the 12th minute before Accies midfielder Danny Redmond produced a stunning equaliser just before the half-hour mark.

That served only to irk the champions and two goals in a minute just before the break from James Forrest and Scott Sinclair had Brendan Rodgers' men back in control of the...

Celtic's Brendan Rodgers: I almost joined Roberto Mancini at Man City

Anderlecht captured their first points in Group B thanks to an own goal from Celtic centre-back Jozo Simunovic.
Anderlecht captured their first points in Group B thanks to an own goal from Celtic centre-back Jozo Simunovic.

Celtic manager Brendan Rodgers has said he was close to joining Roberto Mancini's coaching team at Manchester City in 2009.

Rodgers and Mancini will face each other in the Europa League after the draw pitted Celtic against Zenit St Petersburg.

The former Swansea and Liverpool manager said he had discuissions with Mancini, who went on to win the Premier League title with City, before being offered the Swansea job.

"I was in talks with Manchester City about maybe going back there as a first-team coach,"...

Hibernian fought from two goals behind to grab a 2-2 draw in a pulsating Scottish Premiership encounter with leaders Celtic at Easter Road.

Scott Sinclair appeared to give the Hoops what looked like an unassailable lead with two goals in four minutes after the break.

However, in a dramatic finale former Parkhead defender Efe Ambrose halved the deficit in the 76th minute before 19-year-old substitute Oli Shaw levelled three minutes later with both sides having chances to clinch the win before the...

Brendan Rodgers: Celtic's Europa League spot 'massive achievement'

Anderlecht captured their first points in Group B thanks to an own goal from Celtic centre-back Jozo Simunovic.
Anderlecht captured their first points in Group B thanks to an own goal from Celtic centre-back Jozo Simunovic.

Celtic boss Brendan Rodgers' "immense pride" at qualifying for the Europa League was tempered by his side's 1-0 Champions League defeat to Anderlecht at Parkhead.

The Hoops' 3-0 win in Brussels on matchday two meant the visitors had to equal or better that result in the final Group B game to leapfrog the Scottish champions into third place.

Rodgers' side were out of sorts in the first-half and, despite improvement after the break, an own goal by defender Jozo Simunovic in the 62nd minute meant the...
