U.S. and Arsenal midfielder Gedion Zelalem will miss the remainder of the Under-20 World Cup after injuring his left knee in a 3-3 draw with Ecuador, U.S. Soccer has announced.
Zelalem started the match against the South Americans but was substituted with the injury in the 34th minute.
Zelalem will consult with the U.S. Soccer and Arsenal medical teams in order to formulate a plan for treatment, according to a statement released by U.S. Soccer.

Per Mertesacker has said Arsenal cannot use the uncertainty surrounding Arsene Wenger's future as an excuse for their Premier League failure.
