Thierry Henry quits role as Sky Sports pundit to pursue job in management

Belgium manager Roberto Martinez told ESPN Thierry Henry's success as a player with France can help his team deal with pressure in the World Cup semi-finals.
Unless a "big opportunity" arises, Arsenal boss Unai Emery says he won't feel the need to make any further summer signings.

Thierry Henry is quitting his job as a pundit for Sky Sports in order to focus on a career in management.

The Arsenal great has been one of Sky's most high-profile pundits for several years but has also worked as an assistant coach for Belgium since 2016 and helped the team reach the semifinals of the World Cup.

He said on Twitter that his experiences in coaching "have only made me more determined to fulfil my long term ambition to become a football manager."

"It is with sadness, therefore, that...

Arsene Wenger: I love Bob Marley

Unless a "big opportunity" arises, Arsenal boss Unai Emery says he won't feel the need to make any further summer signings.

Having spent the entire summer at his leisure, Arsene Wenger appeared to be in a relaxed mood when he took part in a candid interview on French television on Monday evening.

The former Arsenal manager was speaking to Christine Kelly, host of RTL show "What If?'" in a revealing chat that took in, among other things, his career highs and lows, his biggest guilty pleasure (eating daily pastries) and his musical preferences.

"I love Bob Marley. He's pure class, in a chill kind of way," the 68-year-old...

Boreham Wood a fitting place for the start of Unai Emery era at Arsenal

Unless a "big opportunity" arises, Arsenal boss Unai Emery says he won't feel the need to make any further summer signings.
With Unai Emery's appointment as Arsenal head coach now official, the ESPN FC panel discuss what he'll need to do to find success at the Emirates.

The setting for Unai Emery's first game in charge of Arsenal could hardly have been more modest, but the 8-0 win at Boreham Wood, in front of 3,500 or so fans at a packed Meadow Park, was a fitting way of showing that even at a time of great change at the club, Arsenal have their feet firmly rooted in tradition.

The relationship between Arsenal and the National League club goes back nearly 20 years, and a summer fixture between the sides became an annual event under former manager Arsene Wenger....

Arsenal's Mesut Ozil to take part in Singapore preseason tour

Unless a "big opportunity" arises, Arsenal boss Unai Emery says he won't feel the need to make any further summer signings.

Mesut Ozil will report back to Arsenal in time for their preseason trip to Singapore, head coach Unai Emery has confirmed.

Ozil has been on holiday since Germany were knocked out in the group stage at the World Cup, but will join the rest of the Arsenal squad before they travel to Asia this weekend.

Nigeria international Alex Iwobi and Egypt's Mohamed Elneny should also be back by then.

"All the players are the same," Emery told the Arsenal website. "They have the same holidays. I know Iwobi, Elneny...

Arsenal caught up in fraud case involving Chinese partner, carmaker BYD

Unless a "big opportunity" arises, Arsenal boss Unai Emery says he won't feel the need to make any further summer signings.

Arsenal have been caught up in a suspected fraud involving one of its Chinese partners, electric carmaker BYD, with the company claiming that the person who signed a sponsorship deal with the club was not authorised to do so.

BYD signed a contract with Arsenal in April to become the club's official car and bus partner, but that deal is among several that involved a person who is now being investigated by police in Shanghai.

BYD claims the person was never an employee of the company and was not authorised...
