Cruz Azul, America to play on new turf at Azteca Stadium

 

MEXICO CITY -- The field at Azteca Stadium has been resurfaced in time for the new season to begin for its two tenants, Cruz Azul and America.

Earlier this summer, the old grass was removed and replaced by a newer, more resilient turf. Cruz Azul will play for the first time on the new surface when they open their Mexican Liga Bancomer season Saturday against Puebla.
