Dec 2 (Reuters) - Ryan Christie's goal in first-half stoppage time was enough for Celtic to secure their seventh straight domestic trophy as they beat Aberdeen 1-0 to win the Scottish League Cup at Hampden Park on Sunday.

After Gary Mackay-Steven was carried off with a head injury, Christie pounced in the fifth minute of additional time in the first half to fire home the winner.

Celtic could have made the margin of victory more comfortable but Scott Sinclair's second-half penalty was saved by Aberdeen...

Manchester United's James Wilson joins Aberdeen on season-long loan

English Premier League: Jamie Vardy (90'+2) Manchester United 2-1 Leicester City

Manchester United striker James Wilson has joined Aberdeen on a season-long loan in a move that is likely to mean the end of his career at Old Trafford.

Wilson, 22, who has scored four goals in 20 senior appearances for United, has been given no indication he has a first-team future under Jose Mourinho and was overlooked for the summer tour of the United States.

Mourinho included a number of teenagers in his squad, including 16-year-old striker Mason Greenwood, but there was no place for Wilson,...

Sam Vokes scored a late away goal to give Burnley a 1-1 draw at Aberdeen in the Europa League on Thursday, but the Clarets will be worried by an injury that put goalkeeper Nick Pope in hospital.

Aberdeen had given Burnley a rough welcome back to European football in the 19th minute through Gary Mackay-Steven's penalty. But Burnley, playing in their first European game in 51 years, equalised with 10 minutes left when Vokes flicked the ball into the roof of the net.

Pope suffered a blow to his shoulder...
