Transfer Talk: Liverpool could give Sami Khedira his Premier League wish

Clubs are slowly turning their eyes toward the summer window. Transfer Talk has updates on all the latest rumours.

Khedira considering conquering Prem

Sami Khedira has won league titles in Germany, Spain and Italy, but now he's set his sights on England.

"I would like to win as many titles as possible in as many championships as possible. Among the best leagues in Europe I lack England, having won in Spain, Germany and Italy," the Juventus midfielder reportedly told Bild last week. "The Premier League has always fascinated me. Winning the title there would complete my collection."

Calciomercato cites Corriere dello Sport as reporting that the 31-year-old has held talks with Juve's directors about his desire to leave the club for a move to the Premier League, and the Italian champions are considering granting him his wish.

Liverpool reportedly view Khedira as a potential replacement for Emre Can, who, coincidentally enough, is strongly rumoured to be leaving Anfield for Juventus on a free transfer this summer.

City's pursuit of Jorginho boosted by United withdrawal

Napoli midfielder Jorginho has no shortage of suitors: Manchester City, Manchester United, Liverpool and Chelsea all reportedly are keen on the Brazil-born Italy international.

But at the head of the queue have been the Manchester clubs, and the Manchester Evening News reports that United have prioritised alternative targets to the 26-year-old, leaving Pep Guardiola's City in pole position.

All that's left to scupper the deal is Napoli's valuation, with the Serie A title chasers wanting £60 million for Jorginho -- a figure that could give mega-wealthy City pause after spending a club-record £57m on centre-back Aymeric Laporte in January.

Rodrygo's father plays down Barca links

Remember when we told you about the newest "New Neymar" -- Rodrygo of Santos?

Reports in Spain last week indicated that the 17-year-old sensation's father had travelled to Barcelona for a meeting, which was seen as a first step to his son's eventual move to the Camp Nou.

However, Rodrygo's dad, aka Eric Goes, has denied the supposed encounter in an interview with Globoesporte.

The elder Goes told the outlet he's never been to Barcelona, and that he's not aware of any proposals from them or anyone else for the talented attacker, who can't legally join a team outside of Brazil until he turns 18 next January.

But -- and there's always a but -- he added Barcelona was definitely a city he'd like to "meet."

Stay tuned.

Tap-ins

- Crystal Palace manager Roy Hodgson has said he expects to have Wilfried Zaha in his squad for next season.

Former Manchester United winger Zaha played a major role in keeping Palace in the Premier League, with his fine form leading to speculation about his future.

- David Moyes believes the Premier League will be losing the last of the "street footballers" if Wayne Rooney opts to leave Everton for D.C. United.

Multiple reports on Thursday said Rooney had agreed in principle to join D.C. United for a £12 million fee.
