Luis Suarez: Barcelona have 'chance to make history' vs. Paris Saint-Germain

As struggles continue for both Arsenal and Barcelona, the FC crew debate which giant's crisis is more dire right now.
Sid Lowe suggests that Barcelona have been gradually losing their identity far before their UCL thumbing by PSG.

Luis Suarez believes Barcelona have the ability to make history by turning around a four-goal deficit for the first time in Champions League history.

Barca were taken apart by Paris Saint-Germain at the Parc des Princes on Tuesday, losing 4-0 to Unai Emery's side in the first leg of their round-of-16 tie.

Suarez admits the defeat hurt, but he's now targeting two early goals in the second leg at the Camp Nou next month to set up what would be a spectacular comeback.

"The first thing is we have to score goals ," he said at a book launch in Barcelona on Friday, when asked what Luis Enrique's side will have to do differently on March 8. "If we score two goals in the first 20 or 40 minutes, it can change the mood of the fans and with their support, we can do it.

"It's a chance to make history. If we want to go down in the club's history, we have to turn it around.

"It is a nice challenge and this team has the ability to do it. We can't down our tools, even if we have been upset about the situation over the last few days."

Barca coach Luis Enrique has taken the brunt of the criticism, and he himself took the blame for the performance. But Suarez says everyone should share the responsibility for what happened.

"Like any defeat, it hurts," he said. "It was a bad game on a general level and we have to accept it.

Luis Suarez says Barcelona will not give up hope of making the quarterfinals.

"We're all responsible. We're all responsible when we win and we're all responsible when we lose."

Asked about Luis Enrique's contract expiring at the end of the season, Suarez said the players will back their coach whether he stays or whether he goes.

"The boss is mature and he's aware of the [contract] situation," he said. "He knows what he's decided or what he will decide; we will accept whatever he does. I've never asked him [about it].

"We're happy. We always exchange opinions, that's something which happens in any club. We have confidence in [Luis Enrique]."

Meanwhile, Barca will take their attempt to overturn Luis Suarez's Copa del Rey final suspension to the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS).
